The location is excellent, on a cobbled street just at the foot of the castle hill and opposite to the bergbahnen station. At the same time it is close to the city centre, restaurants and pubs, the University and the riverside. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The building itself is a remodelled home, with a cozy sitting and kitchen area. Kitchen was well-equipped with several food items. The bathrooms and toilets were clean with sufficient space. There was an additional bath-toilet besides the communal one - all well decorated with appliances. The bunk-bed room has enough open space, place to store small amount of stuff at the bedside, a cloth hanger, table and chairs, large windows. Though close to main areas there wasn't too much noise. I loved the cheeky stickers, old postcards and fun sayings on the bath and kitchen doors/walls - speaks volumes about the cultural and witty personalities of the owners. Don't forget to read Madam Lotte's story once you are there!

The place is very close to the Rathaus Bergbahn bus stop in old town. Main street is about 300 m away and easy to walk up to. Easy to find restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy on the main street. The staff are really helpful and make sure to tell you how to go about everything. The room (I stayed in the 6 bed mixed dorm) was clean and spacious. I travelled with a big bag and there was enough space to leave my bag on the floor near the bed and take things from it. There was a table to study or work in the room and a table fan if you felt hot. Everyone was given a key and it was easy to get in or out. The common bathroom has 2 wash basins, 3 showers and 2 toilets which are all kept clean. The kitchen has almost everything one can think of like kettle, stove, utensils, coffee machine, refrigerator, etc. There was also free milk (regular and vegan) and breakfast cereal. I was able to access the washing machine as well for a small fee.

I think the location is great, but since my room faced the street, there was, of course, some noise from outside(friday night). There was a separate bathroom and toilet for women, but it was single occupancy, so you might have to wait sometimes. If you want to use a towel, you need to rent one. I can totally understand for this price I mean you can rent a towel its not a big deal just to know. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can cook your own meals if you like. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This was my first time staying in a shared dormitory, and I don't think it's suitable for me, but this has nothing to do with the facility itself :) It's entirely a matter of personal comfort and preference. Considering the price and the amenities offered, I think the place is excellent.

This hostel was fantastic. We don't stay in hostels often because we find them to be generally lacking in comfort and amenities but Lotte went above and beyond. The staff were friendly and responsive. The room was clean and comfortable. The lounge area was cozy. There was plenty of tea, cereal, and both regular and oat milk in both kitchens and both kitchens were well stocked with equipment to prepare a meal. We recommend Room #8 if you're staying in one of the double rooms, it's set a bit away from the rest of the hostel so you feel like you have the place to yourself but can go down into the lounge if you are looking to socialize. Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a place in Heidelberg.

I loved everything about my stay here. You are just about as close to the castle as you can be, but still in town so you can go to the supermarket, local restaurants, and the Christmas market if you’re there November-December. The hostel was very cute, the rooms had only 5-6 people each which was nice and quiet, and the mattresses were perfect. The bathrooms are clean and large and I had great experiences showering there - even though lots of people were in the hostel I felt like I had a lot of privacy. The kitchen was well-stocked with coffee and cereal, too! Great benefit. The lady who checked me in, Carmen, was so nice and helpful. 10/10 would stay again.
